March 24, 1978 – Sam “Aji” Zachariah was born at 6:50 p.m. in Kamal Raja hospital, Madhya Pradesh, India. His proud parents Thampi and Sally welcomed him into this world. He was 7 pounds and 3 ounces.
September 1978
September 17, 1978 - Aji was baptized at Gwalior Marthoma Church, Gwalior, India at six months old. He was blessed with the presence of his godfather, P.C. Thomas.
March 1979
March 24, 1979: On this day, Aji celebrated his first birthday at Gwalior, India. Also, this day happened to be the day he took his first steps.
June 1981
This was the first year Aji went to school. He began his education going to nursery school in Gwalior.
October 1981 – September 1983
These years were spent in Kerala with his grandparents. He was separated from his parents as they traveled to the United States.
October 1983
He left India to reunite with his parents in Astoria, Queens. They stayed there for 6 years until January of 1989.
January 1989
The family moved to Rockland County and Aji joined the Nanuet school district in 5th grade.
June 1992
June 7, 1992: Sam received his first Holy Communion at St. James Marthoma Church in Orangeburg, NY at the age of 14.
September 1992 - 1996
Sam attended Nanuet Senior High School in Nanuet, NY. He was a member of the Junior Varsity and Varsity Football and Lacrosse teams.
May 1996
Sam graduated from Nanuet High school in May 1996.

August 1996-December 2001
Sam attended the Pennsylvania State University at University Park, Pennsylvania. He graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering. He was a member of the IE association, ISA and he played IM football and club lax.
November 2002-August 2004
Sam’s first job after graduation was when he worked as a Project Manager for R.D. Weis Companies in Port Chester, NY.
September-November 2004
September 2004: Aji moved down to Washington D.C. and worked at the United states Patent & Trademark Office.
November 2004-July 2006
Sam worked for SRA International as a Statistical Analyst for the United States Border Patrol in Washington, D.C.
April 2006
April 29, 2006: Sam proposed to Janice on the Steps of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C. He then re-enacted the proposal for their friends at Martin’s in Georgetown.
May 2006
May 7, 2006: Sam enjoyed bike riding and also participated in the NYC Five Boro Bike Tour with his coworkers.
July 2006
July 14, 2006: Sam “Aji” Zachariah was called to eternal glory on this day and will always be remembered for his charming smile and loving heart.
